Don’t miss Rock, Pop and Doo Wop on witf TV on November 28 at 8:30 p.m. and December 9 at 8 p.m. The show features rock and pop legends Jon (Sha Na Na) "Bowzer" Bauman and Ronnie Spector (of the Ronettes), as they bring back the best songs from the late 1950s and early 1960s rock, pop and doo wop era. The show also includes new live performances and rare, never before available, archival classics from the Dick Clark vaults.
Hear Ronnie Spector sing her biggest hits, "Be My Baby” and "Baby I Love You.” The original lead voice of the Crystals, La La Brooks, also graces the My Music stage for the first time to sing her hits, "Then He Kissed Me" and "Da Doo Ron Ron.” And, of course, favorite Jay Black returns to sing his show-stopping thrills, "This Magic Moment" and "Cara Mia.” Plus, Len Barry, an original lead singer of the Dovells, sings his #1 hit, "1-2-3,” and The Orlons (“The Wah-Watusi,” “Don't Hang Up” and “South Street”) and Dee Dee Sharp ("Mashed Potato Time") gather live on stage in tribute to the Philly teen dance music of American Bandstand in the early 1960s.
For the first time ever, you can take home footage never before available on DVD – like an original performance by Johnny Maestro & The Crests (before he started the Brooklyn Bridge) that has not been broadcast since its original premiere. Johnny was an all time legend of vocal group harmony, and My Music creator and executive producer, TJ Lubinsky, says "After his recent passing, seeing him for the first time in his prime is an emotional and poignant moment.” Get in the groove with Rock, Pop, and Doo Wop on witf TV!
