Cook your Cupboard

Morning Edition guesses you've got a few food items in your kitchen that you have no idea what to do with. Is there a strange can of beans you panic-bought before a storm? Some fancy salts you received as a gift? An ingredient you bought for a recipe that's never seen light since?

NPR's Cook Your Cupboard is a forum to pose those pantry puzzlers. Get and give advice in the comments at Cook Your Cupboard on Tumblr for ideas on how to cook them up. Plus, Morning Edition will bring chefs like Nigella Lawson on air to weigh in on submissions for occasional segments.

The first round (ending Sunday, April 14) involves three items you have in your kitchen. Subsequent rounds might include themes like Spice Rack, Freezer, Sauces, or Canned Goods. Cook Your Cupboard segments will air occasionally on Morning Edition on witf FM.  Listen to the preview segment with Morning Edition's David Greene from April 5:
