National Salute to Veterans

Join witf on November 11 for a full day of special programming honoring Veteran's Day. Get the full lineup below:

1 p.m. - Vietnam War Stories - Vietnam War veterans reflect on their service, the sacrifices they made and the strong bonds they formed with fellow soldiers. Included: archival footage and photos.
2 p.m. - National Veterans Creative Arts Festival - Veterans perform at the arts festival in Fayetteville, Ark. Included: vocal and instrumental music; choral selections; dance; and dramatic vignettes.
3 p.m. - POV "Where Soldiers Come From - "Where Soldiers Come From" is about three friends from Michigan's Upper Peninsula who join the National Guard after graduating high school. Heather Courtney's documentary follows them on their yearlong deployment in Afghanistan.
4:30 p.m. - Veterans Day 11.11.11 - "Day in the life" stories about America's military veterans on Veterans Day in 2011.
7 p.m. - War Stories: A WITF Collection - WWII veterans from Pennsylvania share their wartime experiences.
8 p.m. - National Salute to Veterans - Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise host this collection of "National Memorial Day Concert" highlights, including performances by Yolanda Adams, Kris Allen, Javier Colon, Pia Toscano and the National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Jack Everly. In addition, Gen. Colin L. Powell (USA Ret.) pays tribute to the troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. A.J. Cook, Jason Ritter and Forest Whitaker also help honor America's veterans.
