Written by witf.org | Aug 17, 2012 11:00 AM

Don’t miss Girl Scouts: Shaping a Century, a witf Original Production airing on August 26 at 7 p.m. Join host Judy Woodruff, Co-Anchor and Senior Correspondent for PBS NewsHour, for a centennial celebration of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Listen as Judy shares fond memories of growing up as a Girl Scout and learn how the organization shaped her as a person and a professional.

Then, travel back 100 years to when the Girl Scouts first began and learn about the rich history right here in the heart of Pennsylvania. How is the organization changing to accommodate the needs of today’s young women and tomorrow’s leaders? We’ll compare merit badges of the past to merit badges of today. Plus, hear how Girl Scouting in the heart of Pennsylvania has impacted the lives of local girls, mothers and leaders like York Mayor Kim Bracey and First Lady Susan Manbeck Corbett.

Check out the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania's 100th anniversary page!
