The latest weather forecasts predict that the eastern portion of Pennsylvania will bear the brunt of the Hurricane Irene, with heavy rains of up to 10 inches, and strong winds gusting to 60 mph or more.
The combination of wind and rain could result in downed trees and utility lines, flash flooding and extensive power outages.
Governor Corbett has already declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the arrival of the hurricane.
