No one likes to think about it, but the fact is, we’re all going to pass away, kick the bucket, shuffle off this mortal coil, become dust in the wind, say good night Gracie, push the daisies, move six feet under – enough metaphors? Okay, let’s put it bluntly, someday, we’re all going to die.

There are lots of things we’d all like to do before we go, but one thing everyone may want to consider is how to make the grief associated with our deaths a bit more palatable for our loved ones by thinking about our own funerals. The funeral industry – and it is an industry – pushes all sorts of pre-planning options, from reserved plots in cemeteries, to pre-arranged funeral services. How much of this do you want to do now, and how much do you want to leave to loved ones to handle?
