(Mechanicsburg) -- A Mechanicsburg woman has been actively championing civil rights for decades. Ann Durr Lyon founded the Harrisburg Civil Rights Oral History Project; over three decades, she taught courses on the importance of racial equality at HACC; and she continues to push for equality through her work in the community and in Alabama with the annual Durr Lecture Series on civil liberties. Lyon is the first person to be featured in WITF's new series Beyond the Bio, which focuses on people who've made an important contribution to our region and the nation. WITF's Melanie Herschorn sat down with Lyon at her home to go Beyond the Bio during Black History Month.
