(York) -- Susan Byrnes quit her job as an emergency room nurse to start a non-profit center in the midstate that teaches people about healthy decision-making. Byrnes made that move in 1988. By 1995, the Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center set up shop on York's George Street inside a much-remodeled car dealership.
