Vice President Mike Pence will make a stop in Lancaster County on Wednesday to support the campaigning efforts of Republican U.S. Reps. Lloyd Smucker and Scott Perry just in time for the November midterm elections.

Pence will be speaking around 2 p.m. at the Lancaster Airport in Manheim Township, according to an event registration page. Pence's visit is part a multi-stop tour in central Pennsylvania to "Get out the vote."

The visit to Lancaster comes just two weeks before Smucker is set to compete for his second term in congress against Democrat Jess King. Earlier this month, King broke the record for money raised in a single cycle by a Democrat running for the Lancaster County-based 11th Congressional District seat, which also covers southern York County, and has garnered a $429,000 advantage over the GOP incumbent.

Perry, a three-term incumbent, will go head-to-head with Democrat George Scott for the newly drawn 10th Congressional District seat. Perry won his last three terms in Congress by no fewer than 25 percentage points. But now, because of a recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision to redraw the state's congressional map, it's a district that has a chance of flipping in the November General Election.

A fundraiser at 1:30 p.m. at the airport will benefit the two candidates' campaigns.
