(York) -- A judge has rejected a proposed plea deal in the case of a high school girls' assistant basketball coach in York County accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old female student and basketball player.

Twenty-four-year-old Aignee Freeland was scheduled to plead guilty Thursday in York County to corruption of a minor, requiring her to register as a sex offender for 15 years.

But Judge Gregory Snyder rejected the deal, saying he didn't think it was appropriate given the charges.

The Dover Area High School junior varsity coach was charged with institutional sexual assault and unlawful contact with a minor after the district notified police of the allegations Dec. 20.

Prosecutors and defense attorney RJ Fisher said it's possible that another agreement acceptable to the court could be reached.
