(State College) -- The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for our area through this evening.

That includes the counties of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York.

Periods of rain are forecast through at least the early afternoon hours today and additional rainfall amounts of up to one inch are possible.

Officials say the additional rainfall will result in significant rises on small rivers and streams.

They say with water levels already flowing at high levels from recent rainfall, the threat of flooding will peak this afternoon or early this evening.
