Trout season opens in most of the midstate

(Harrisburg) -- Trout season is officially underway in 18 counties in southcental and southeastern Pennsylvania.

The regional opening day began at 8am this morning in Adams, Berks, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Perry, Philadelphia, Schuylkill and York counties.

The daily limit is five, and if taken, trout must be at least seven inches length.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has been stocking Pennsylvania's lakes and streams since March 1st in preparation.

Opening day statewide is April 14th.
