Three funeral processions planned to honor fallen York firefighters

The public may pay their respects to the fallen firefighters.

(York) -- Funeral processions for fallen fighters Ivan Flanscha and Zachary Anthony have been announced by the City of York and the York City Police Department.

Members of the public are invited to stand at a spot along the routes to pay their respects.

Traffic will be stopped intermittently for the processions.

Here are the plans:

Today: To pay respects to firefighter Ivan Flanscha, gather in Continental Square between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. The procession is expected to pass through at this time.

Wednesday: Intermittent road closures on West Philadelphia and West Market streets are planned between 11:00 a.m. and noon.

Members of the public who plan to attend the memorial service at the York Expo Center's Mid-Atlantic Industrial Equipment Memorial Hall must enter through Carlisle Avenue Gate (Gate 9). The service starts at 1:00 p.m.

Emergency service apparatus will enter the expo center through Gate 8A.

Thursday: To pay respects to firefighter Zachary Anthony, gather at the intersection of Philadelphia and George streets between 11:00 a.m. and 11:35 a.m. The procession is expected to pass through on Philadelphia Street during that time.

Intermittent closures of West Philadelphia Street are planned between 11:00 a.m. and noon.
