Nittany Lions roll over Rutgers

(University Park, Pa) -- Quarterback Trace McSorley threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as No. 16 Penn State beat Rutgers at a Beaver Stadium Homecoming on Saturday.

McSorley became Penn State's all-time touchdown leader with 68, overtaking Daryll Clark's record of 65.

Running back Saquan Barkley was again held in check, but did manage two short rushing touchdowns.

The Lions scored 35 unanswered points after spotting Rutgers a 6-0 first quarter lead.

It was the first time Penn State has been held scoreless in the first quarter this season.

Several teams ranked ahead of Penn State lost yesterday,.. including Georgia, Notre Dame, TCU and Michigan State.

The Nittany Lions close out their home schedule with Senior Day against Nebraska next Saturday.
