Dan McNeill, state lawmaker from Bethlehem area, dead at 70

(Allentown) -- Pennsylvania legislative leaders say state Representative Dan McNeill, a Democrat from the Bethlehem area, is dead at age 70. 

Officials said the three-term lawmaker died Friday.

The Morning Call of Allentown says he was a former Whitehall Township commissioner who was an advocate for working people.

The paper says he was an official with Ironworkers Local 36 for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne, and two daughters.
