(York) -- PennDOT says preliminary work will begin next week on a project to repair and resurface a more than one-and-a-half mile section of Route 30 in West Manchester Township, York County.

The work will take place from just west of Route 116 at Hadleigh Drive, to and including the mainline ramps within the Route 462 interchange.

PennDOT officials say the work will include base repair, resurfacing, guiderail installation and new signs,.. and is scheduled to be completed in January of 2018.

PennDOT says the contractor has agreed not to restrict travel lanes between 6:00am and 8:30am, and between 3:30pm and 6:00pm.

Sections of Route 30 carry more than 34,000 vehicles daily.

To avoid delays, travelers should allow for additional time in their plans or seek an alternate route.
