Mattel opens distribution center in Lebanon County and will hire 400

(Jonestown) -- A major toy manufacturer plans to hire about 400 new workers to staff a new distribution center in Lebanon County.

Mattel has opened the one million-square-foot center in the Gateway Logistics Park area of Jonestown.

The company will package popular toys including Barbie and Hot Wheels brands at the center. It will also handle Mega Brands and, eventually, Fisher-Price. '

The center will employ as many as 400 people during peak season.

The facilitity is located at the junction of Interstates 81 and 78.

It will be Mattel's East Coast hub because it's centrally located to most customers in that region.

Mattel is headquartered in El Segundo, California.
