(Marietta) -- A man has been ordered to stand trial in the shooting death of his elderly father-in-law during what police called a domestic dispute.

Sixty-five-year-old Clifford Hafer waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday, sending his case to Lancaster County Court.

Hafer is charged in the April 29 shooting death of 89-year-old John Teffeteller at the defendant's home in East Donegal Township.

Authorities said the victim, the father of Hafer's late wife, had moved in shortly before the slaying.

Police said he was shot several times in the kitchen of the residence and a dog was also shot and killed.
