(Harrisburg) -- A Maryland man who exposed himself to a female room service attendant at a midstate hotel, then gave the woman a $5 tip for her trouble, has been convicted of indecent exposure.

A Dauphin County judge has also fined 39-year-old Jeffrey Hubbard $50 and sentenced him to one month probation.

The Aberdeen man contested the charges which stemmed from his stay at the Hershey Lodge on December 27, 2015.

He argued his pants-less greeting wasn't indecent exposure because it didn't occur in a sufficiently "public" place.

But prosecutors say Hubbard knew that exposing himself when he answered the door was likely to alarm whoever was there.

Prosecutors say Hubbard gave the attendant $5 for "having to see this" as he stood exposed before her.
