Midstate police officer injured after crashing into truck

(Carlisle) -- State Police say a Middletown Township police officer is hospitalized after his patrol vehicle crashed into a truck.

Police say the officer was headed east on Carlisle Pike in Cumberland County when he failed to come to a complete halt for traffic stopped at a light at Cook Drive on Monday evening.

The officer was flown to a hospital. His name and condition have not been released.

The truck driver did not report any injuries.
