(Piscataway, NJ) -- It will be Penn State's third night game in its last five outings when they visit Rutgers tonight in Piscataway, New Jersey.

The 8-2 Nittany Lions are coming off a 45-31 nail-biter last week against Indiana.  Once again the offense took things to another level in the second half and Penn State escaped with their sixth straight win.

Head coach James Franklin knows much of the credit goes to quarterback Trace McSorley.

"He is tough.  He is smart.  He is resilient.  He's a playmaker.  The guys believe in him.  They really do," Franklin said.

At 2-8, the Scarlet Knights are a struggling football team on both sides of the ball.  A bright spot remains their pass defense which ranks  4th in the Big Ten.

However, like last season, opponents continue to run at will against Rutgers.

In last year's contest, Penn State rushed for 330 yards and four touchdowns.

The Lions are a 28-point favorite.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8 pm.
