(Mountville) --  Authorities say a 17-year-old central Pennsylvania boy has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a 15-year-old friend that officials say appears to have been accidental.

The Lancaster County district attorney's office said West Hempfield Township police responded to a Mountville house at 10:45 a.m. Friday and found the victim.

Police said the two boys were friends and were looking at the gun at the older boy's home before the shot was fired.

The district attorney said "at this point, police have found nothing to indicate that the shooting was intentional."

The gun had been stolen from a vehicle in the township.

Authorities said the 17-year-old will be prosecuted in juvenile court and is also charged with felony theft and theft from a vehicle.
