(Lancaster) -- A record size truck convoy will be rolling through Lancaster County today.

It's the 27th Annual Mother's Day Convoy that benefits Make-A-Wish of Philadelphia, Northern Delaware and Susquehanna Valley.

Hopes are to have at least 417 big rigs participate to break a record held by a trucking company in the Netherlands.

Thousands are expected to line the route this afternoon from its starting point in New Holland at Burle Business Park to west on Route 30, north on 222, north on 272, east on 322 through Ephrata and eventually back to where it started.

The convoy is just one of the events nationwide that raises money to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, and since the organization's inception in 1980, they have done so more than 270-thousand times.
