(Lancaster) -- A central Pennsylvania man has been ordered to spend decades in prison for sexually abusing a child over a two-year period.

Thirty-seven-year-old Ramon Luis Jusino was sentenced on Tuesday to 31 to 70 years behind bars for abuse that authorities said started at his Lancaster home in 2012 when the victim was 6 years old.

He was convicted of rape of a child in January. The girl testified at his trial.

Prosecutors say they would have sought a sentence of life in prison without parole if Jusino had been eligible for that.
