(Harrisburg) -- A Dauphin County man accused of keeping 11 children in a filthy home full of trash, feces and raw meat has been arrested.

Tyree Fluellen of Steelton has been charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children.

Child welfare workers found maggots overflowing in trash cans during a check of the home, and toilets and bathtubs were filled with feces.

Raw meat and flies covered the floor.

Police say six of the children had infections caused by the shigella bacteria, which can be contracted by exposure to feces.

Steelton Police Officer in Charge Anthony Minium says the 29-year-old Fluellen isn't the biological father of all the kids.

He also says there's a warrant out for the arrest of one of the mothers.

Online court documents don't list an attorney for Fluellen.

He remains in Dauphin County Prison.
