(Harrisburg) -- Harrisburg police are investigating the city's first homicide of the new year.

A 19-year-old man was shot and killed around 1:00 a.m. on Burchfield Street -- in an area of the city that has seen recent drug activity.

Captain Deric Moody says the street has recently come to the department's attention because of drug activity, but he doesn't know if the shooting is related.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.
