(Philadelphia) -- Philadelphia Media Network has tapped one of its vice presidents to be the top editor of the consolidated newsroom of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, and their website, Philly.com.

Stan Wischnowski will move into the newsroom as executive editor and be responsible for leading the combined staff.

The company moved late last year to consolidate the three news operations and cut jobs in order to reduce costs. But it continues to publish two separate newspapers.

It also announced Thursday that Eric Ulken will take on oversight of the editorial operations of Philly.com, in addition to his existing product strategy and audience development responsibilities.

Inquirer Editor Bill Marimow, Daily News Editor Michael Days and Ulken had already been reporting to Wischnowski and will continue doing so.

Ulken replaces Mike Topel, who is leaving for NBC in New York.
