(York) --  One of two cousins killed when their car crashed during a police chase in Spring Garden Township, York County, was a fugitive who was supposed to begin a prison sentence for heroin possession last month.

22-year-old Brandon Moultrey of York was supposed to report to prison October 6 to serve one-and-a-half to three years after pleading guilty in September.

Nineteen-year-old Elijah Moultrey also died Sunday in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Police are trying to determine who was driving the car, which police say fled a traffic stop, then smashed into a garage that collapsed onto the car.

Two others in the car were hospitalized.

Spring Garden Township police say they tried to stop the car because they believed it was connected to an earlier assault.
