(Lewistown) -- State police have two unidentified suspects in custody after an elderly woman and her daughter were found slain in a Mifflin County home.

The county coroner says the bodies of 81-year-old Floris Lewis and 44-year-old Carol White were found after someone called 911 and reported gunfire about 6:30 a.m. Monday.

The incident took place in Granville Township.

District Attorney David Molek says the suspects were arrested within an hour but, so far, prosecutors and the state police aren't identifying them, or saying why or how they're connected to the killings.

The DA did say firearms stolen from Huntingdon County were used in the killings, however.

State police have re-issued a news release about the bodies, but didn't immediately identify the suspects.

An earlier version of this story:

(Lewistown) -- Two men are in police custody after two women were found shot to death at a Mifflin County home.

State police say Granville Township officers discovered the bodies early Monday after a neighbor called to report someone outside the home carrying what appeared to be a gun.

Troopers say one woman was shot in her bed and the other woman was shot outside the home.

They say the women were related.

Two men in their 40s were apprehended at the scene.
