In this file photo from March, a state Board of Education committee announced the two days of hearings.

(York) -- A fight between two York County school districts goes in front of a state committee starting today.

Some people who live Washington Township want to leave Dover Area School District for Northern York Area School District.

They argue Northern York offers better academics, and lower taxes.

Those opposed to the change say it would disrupt families, and question the facts presented by those pushing for it.

A special panel of the State Board of Education will run the two days of hearings, which start today at the York County Judicial Center at 10 and continue tomorrow at nine.
