(Columbia) -- A former parish secretary at a Lancaster County church is charged with stealing at least $10,000 from the church.

Josetta Reese reportedly admitted to taking the money over a number of years at Holy Trinity Parish in Columbia.

Diocesan officials first noticed problems with the church's books in late March, and they say she confessed to the crime in May.

She apparently took the money from Sunday offerings and other parish events.

A judge set bail for Reese at $5,000 for the felony charge.
