(Delta, York County) -- A nuclear power plant has hit a milestone.

Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station's Unit 2 generated more than 1,300 megawatts per hour this weekend, a new record.

The high mark was more than four years in the making, following reviews from the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commision that also required upgrading equipment and replacing some parts.

Peach Bottom in York County can generate 2,500 megawatts between its two reactors.
