(Harrisburg) -- Four more of Governor Tom Wolf's cabinet nominees have made it through another round of the confirmation process.

State Senate panels have recommended Curt Topper to serve as secretary of the Department of General Services, Gary Tennis as head of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, and Dennis Davin as secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development.

Acting Adjutant General James Joseph also sailed through his hearing to run the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

Topper say his agency is taking a top to bottom look at how public works are performed across the state.

"We're using systems that are literally three decades old that are still paper-based. It's inefficient on many levels," he told lawmakers. "That's one of the things that I'd like to see us correct as part of this overall moderniztion effort that we have underway."

All four nominees now go to the full Senate for a final vote.

Two confirmation hearings are slated to be held next week.

They will consider the nominations of Russell Redding of Adams County as secretary of the Agriculture Department and Pedro Cortes to lead the Department of State.
