(Harrisburg) -- Candidates for the Republican Party nominations in the race for Pennsylvania's highest court are poised to discuss the issues at a Harrisburg forum.

Five of the six hopefuls are expected to participate today in the second of two forums at the Widener University Law School.

In all, 12 candidates are competing in the May 19 primary. The top three voter-getters in each party will face off in the general election for an unprecedented three open seats on the seven-member Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Republicans expected at tonight's forum are Supreme Court Justice Correale Stevens, Superior Court judges Cheryl Allen and Judith Olson, Adams County Judge Mike George, and Montour County District Attorney Rebecca Warren. Commonwealth Court Judge Anne Covey isn't attending.

A similar forum for Democratic candidates was held Wednesday.
