(Harrisburg) -- Midstate organizations are turning the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday into a day of service.

The YWCA of Greater Harrisburg says it will focus its attention on Harrisburg's Allison Hill neighborhood, with painting, minor home repair, and other clean up efforts.

Meanwhile, the staff of the Court Appointed Special Advocates will be painting at Lumina, a church and community ministry project in Lancaster.

Other nonprofits across the region are also using the day for community projects.
