(Philadelphia) -- Philadelphia's mayor and the state's former governor will gather in a beer garden to announce details of next week's Democratic National Committee site visit.

Mayor Michael Nutter and former Governor Ed Rendell will disclose details of next week's visit tonight. Officials are calling the gathering the Philadelphia DNC 2016 kickoff event.

Twenty members of the DNC Site Committee will come to Philadelphia next Wednesday and Thursday to discuss the city's effort to host next year's convention.

Philadelphia is one of five cities bidding to host the 2016 convention. DNC officials are also considering Birmingham, Alabama, Columbus, Ohio, New York and Phoenix.
