(Undated) -- Crews are working to clear fallen trees and fix fallen power lines, in the wake of severe thunderstorms that wreaked havoc on the midstate last evening.

The National Weather Service in State College says a possible tornado was reported in Perry County.

Scattered power outages remain across the region.

Statewide, about 228,000 homes and businesses remain without power, with majority of those in the Philadelphia area.

The NWS says a tornado touched down yesterday afternoon near the town of Hoagland in northwestern Pennsylvania's Mercer County. Other possible tornadoes were reported in Bedford and Sullivan counties.
