(Pittsburgh) -- Governor Corbett says he's still hopeful the state Legislature will take up a pension overhaul, but won't say if he's plans to call a special session on the issue.
Corbett spoke in Pittsburgh at press conference this afternoon. He says he thinks Republicans are "very close" to reaching an agreement on pension reform and liquor privatization.
Corbett says some Republican members are being influenced by public sector unions, and now he's taking his cause to the public.
Corbett signed the state budget 10 days late on Thursday and used his line-item veto power to cut some Legislature funding.
House Majority Leader Mike Turzai, R-Allegheny, says Corbett needs to take the lead on crafting a pension agreement.
