(Lancaster) -- Police say a Virginia man drove to Lancaster County to see a 12-year-old girl he had met online, then took her to a hotel before authorities arrested him.

A Manheim Township woman called police Friday afternoon when her daughter didn't come home from school. She told police her daughter had been seen getting into a man's car.

Within 30 minutes, police found the man's car in a Harrisburg Pike hotel parking lot, took him into custody and rescued the girl.

Thirty-year-old Nelson E. Hercules Jr. of Virginia Beach faces charges including attempted rape of a child, indecent assault and kidnapping of a minor.

He's being held on $250,000 bond. A hearing in the case is scheduled for Wednesday.
