(Harrisburg) -- A few hundred supporters of gun rights are pressing their cause to state lawmakers as part of Second Amendment Action Day, an annual event in recent years.

The event in Harrisburg brought dozens of sympathetic legislators to the steps of the state Capitol in a steady rain. After an hour of speeches those in attendance were fanning out to make their case directly to the elected representatives.

Speakers described pending legislation that could further broaden gun rights. They also warned those in attendance that their Second Amendment rights are at risk.

Representatives Rick Saccone, an Allegheny County Republican and prominent gun rights supporter, says Pennsylvania should not "trail any state in the freedom to protect ourselves."
