(Lancaster) -- A Lancaster County funeral director charged with abusing corpses and stealing from clients has pleaded guilty to dozens of charges on the day his trial was to begin.

42-year-old Benjamin Siar Jr. will spend five to 10 years in prison and pay $150,000 in restitution as part of a plea agreement announced today.

Siar has been behind bars since February 2013, after police discovered four decomposing bodies inside Gundel Funeral Home.

Prosecutors said further investigation found Siar was paid more than $13,000 for funeral and cremation services that weren't done.

More charges came soon afterward, when authorities said Siar's business records showed he bilked tens of thousands of dollars from more than 30 clients over several years.
