Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is reminding residents that space heaters are not intended to replace your home’s heating system. When using a space heater, be careful not to overload the electrical outlet. Avoid using extension cords and keep all space heaters at least three feet away from combustibles, such as clothes, curtains, beds, or other furniture. Never use equipment such as a grill, stovetop, or oven as a supplementary heater.
