(Shippensburg) -- A Franklin County woman is charged with involuntary manslaughter stemming from the fatal shooting of her eight-year-old son by his six-year-old brother inside their home last fall.

Thirty-two-year-old Jessica Pfaff of Greencastle has been sent to Cumberland County prison on charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment and child endangerment.

Pfaff told state troopers after the September 1st shooting that there was a loaded revolver and loaded rifle next to the bed in the bedroom where she was sleeping. Police said the woman told authorities she was sleeping and didn't hear the shooting but her younger son reported accidentally shooting his brother.

Investigators said the home was filled with trash and debris.

District Attorney David Freed said Pfaff failed to take the most basic steps to ensure her children's safety.
