Dauphin County Commissioners Jeff Haste, Mike Pries and George P. Hartwick, III and the county’s Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) remind residents within a 10-mile radius of Londonderry Township-based Three Mile Island (TMI) that a test of the facility’s emergency alert and notification siren system will be conducted on Thursday, December 5 at 12:15 p.m.

As part of the test, all 96 new sirens within 10 miles of the facility will sound for three minutes.

The purpose of the sirens is to notify residents to tune into an Emergency Alert System (EAS) radio or television station in case of an emergency.

The next test will be held in June of 2014.
