(Franklintown) -- A Maryland soldier already charged in a York County home invasion and assault of two 17-year-old boys now faces an attempted homicide charge connected to a second home invasion on the same night.

Pennsylvania State Police in York allege 23-year-old Rico Holmes III of Bethesda, Maryland, is one of several armed intruders who entered a Franklintown apartment on December 8th and shot a man who had been sleeping inside. The man survived.

Holmes was previously arrested for a similar home invasion robbery in Franklin Township that occurred about an hour earlier as two teenage boys were watching television.

The active duty Army soldier was stationed at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and is charged with attempted homicide, burglary, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
