(Undated) -- As Military Family Appreciation Month winds down, the Real Warriors Campaign is reminding families to watch for signs a returning service member may have psychological wounds impairing their reintegration to civilian life.
Captain Wanda Finch is with the Defense Centers for Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury.
She says seeking help is a sign of strength.
"When there's a need for psychological health treatment, we need to intervene early," says Finch. "Waiting to intervene just prolongs the need for care, and oftentimes leaves psychological health concerns untreated."
Finch says the Real Warriors Campaign offers a variety of resources for military families on its website.
