PPL Electric Utilities employees are preparing for predicted winter storms this weekend to quickly and safely respond to customers who may lose service due to accumulating ice and snow.

Crews are ready to respond if customers lose power overnight tonight and into early Saturday (12/7) or during the next predicted winter storm Sunday (12/8) and Monday (12/9).

"We take every storm seriously and plan ahead so we can respond effectively and safely when our customers need us," said Dana Ferber, PPL Electric Utilities' director of operations for the Harrisburg and Lancaster regions. "Safety is always a priority for us in difficult weather. Please be aware that as snow and ice accumulates, it can weigh down and break limbs, which fall onto our power lines and cause power outages."

Customers should stay away from any downed power lines, treat them as if they were live, and contact PPL Electric Utilities. Be safe. Do not try to move or drive over the wires.

If you are a PPL customer and you lose power, report your outage by calling 1-800-DIAL-PPL (342-5775) or visiting www.pplelectric.com/outage. PPL relies on customers to tell them about outages; do not assume someone else has reported it.
