(Harrisburg) -- A longtime county judge from the Philadelphia suburbs is heading for a seat on the state Superior Court.

The state Senate has voted unanimously in favor of Delaware County Judge Patricia Jenkins.

Governor Corbett nominated her to fill a vacancy created when Judge Correale  Stevens was appointed to a Supreme Court vacancy.

A graduate of Penncrest High in Media, Albright College and Dickinson School of Law, Jenkins has been a county judge for more than 20 years.
