(Hanover) -- Authorities in York County have identified a man found dead after an hours-long standoff with police.

State troopers say the body of 53-year-old Brian Costley was discovered in his house in West Manheim Township.

According to troopers, the standoff began Monday afternoon after two West Manheim Township officers tried to serve an arrest warrant on Costley.

He was wanted in Carroll County, Maryland., for violating pretrial conditions on a charge of drunken driving.

Troopers say Costley began shooting at the officers, one of whom returned fire. York County law enforcement officers later entered the house and found Costley dead.

The cause of his death is under investigation. An autopsy was planned for today.
