(Harrisburg) -- Six people killed in a head-on crash are among 11 that state police say died on Pennsylvania highways over the four-day Labor Day driving period.
State police said troopers investigated 661 crashes that left 262 people injured. A year ago, six people died in 746 crashes over Labor Day.
Four adults and two children died Saturday near Kane in northwestern Pennsylvania. State police say a woman with three kids in her car crossed the center line and drove head-on into a sedan carrying the four adult victims.
Troopers issued more than 9,000 speeding tickets and made 351 arrests for driving under the influence over the four days.
The totals don't include crashes investigated by local police.
